Uncoiler (classification, working principle, application, operation, purchase, maintenance)

Uncoiler is a mechanical equipment used for unwinding and unwinding metal coils. Some models can also be used for winding and rewinding of continuous material strips after processing. Also called unwinding rack, material rack, and rewinder.

1. Classification of uncoilers: divided into five types: heavy-duty uncoiler, hydraulic uncoiler, double-head uncoiler, light-duty uncoiler, and disc horizontal    uncoiler.

1. Heavy-duty uncoiler, used to place wide plates and thick materials, with multiple machine widths, can carry 500 kg-8 tons of coils.

It is also divided into powered and unpowered models. Powered means with induction. When the material touches the induction rack, the material rack automatically feeds and rotates. It can be used for uncoiling or rewinding. If it is used for thick plates, the waiting area needs to be reserved; unpowered models rely on the subsequent leveling machine to pull to achieve uncoiling, and the butterfly brake device eliminates inertia.

2. Hydraulic uncoiler, used for unwinding or rewinding heavy coils of more than 2 tons.

The hydraulic uncoiler uses oil pressure expansion instead of ordinary hand-cranked expansion to ensure that heavy coils of more than 2 tons can still be tensioned on the inner ring. The frequency converter realizes the speed regulation function to improve the stability of production. It is also equipped with a loading trolley to assist in safe loading and rewinding. The handle controls the expansion and contraction action, which is easy to operate. The contact induction method realizes start and stop, and the degree of automation is high.

3. Double-head uncoiler, two expansion and contraction reels carry the coils, and can alternately unwind and rewind.

The double-head uncoiler has two expansion and contraction reels, which are 180 degrees apart and connected by a rotating shaft. They can alternately unwind. When one expansion and contraction reel is unwinding normally, the other expansion and contraction reel can be rolled up calmly using a crane or forklift, which omits the downtime for loading, so that the material can move continuously on the production line.

4. Light uncoiler, used for unwinding and collecting 100kg and 200kg small material racks.

There are two types of light uncoilers, CR-100 is fixed type for expansion and contraction, and CR-200 is hand-cranked type for expansion and contraction.

5. Disc horizontal uncoiler is a horizontal unwinding equipment, suitable for high-speed unwinding of metal and non-metal thin sheet materials with a width of 5-120mm and a thickness of 0-1.0mm.

The disc horizontal uncoiler is not limited by the inner diameter of the coil, and can stack multiple thin sheet coils at the same time, ensuring the continuity of stamping production. The speed can be adjusted arbitrarily from 0 to 30m/min by the inverter speed control method. The unwinding speed is fast and stable, and the operation is simple.

2. Working principle of the uncoiler: vertical expansion and contraction uncoiler, the coil is placed vertically on the expansion and contraction drum, and after being tensioned by the expansion and contraction drum, the motor drives the expansion and contraction drum to rotate, driving the coil to uncoil, and then the material strip droops naturally after unwinding, and stops automatically after contacting the induction frame.

3. Application scope of the uncoiler: The uncoiler is usually used with punching machines, laser cutting machines, cold bending machines, and hydraulic presses. It is used for unwinding or winding various types of metal coils to realize the automatic production of coils. It is often used in metal processing and manufacturing industries.

4. Purchase of uncoiler:

1. Consider the material width, thickness, load, inside and outside of the coil, and outer diameter requirements of the metal coil.

2. Consider the speed of material discharging and the degree of automation of operation, and select the optional device;

3. Comprehensively consider the space occupied, downtime for material change, and induction control method to select the required machine model

5. Maintenance of the uncoiler:

1. Please check the specifications of the uncoiler, the width and thickness of the material used, and the load capacity before use. Overload is strictly prohibited;

2. For long-term use, the main shaft bearing grease should be added once a week, and the reducer oil should be replaced every six months, and the oil should be added to 1/3;

3. For long-term use, pay attention to check whether the fasteners, bearing seats, and screws on the machine are loose.
